About the Position
The Service Department Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the Service department and leadership of the service team. This position will lead the department to attain maximum production and cost control while building and maintaining a loyal customer base, maintaining good employee relationships, assist in setting and attaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining service records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assures customer service is given the highest priority to guarantee excellent customer relations.
- Assist in hiring, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service department staff.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
- Serve as liaison with factory representatives and O.E.M’s.
- Direct supervision of the Warranty Administrator, Service Writers, Service Salesman and Shop Foremen.
- Assures customer service is given the highest priority to guarantee excellent customer relations.
- Calls on customers with the service salesman.
- Provides quotes on service work.
- Reviews repair orders daily.
- Assures training is up to date for all techs.
- Assists with technical problems.
- Serves as a liaison with OEM representatives.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a truck repair facility.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Exceptional communicator with customer service-oriented attitude.
- 3 years supervisory experience.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage and motivate personnel.
- Ability to work well with the public.
- Ability to understand and utilize basic business mathematical calculations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
